National Service Scheme (NSS)

The National service scheme, popularly known as NSS was launched in Mahatma Gandhiji’s centenary year, 1969. It aimed at developing student’s personality through community service. The cardinal principle of NSS programme is that it is organized by the students themselves, and both students and teachers through their combined participation in community service, get a sense of involvement in the tasks of nation building.

NSS is a value based youth movement which links campus with community and provides an opportunity to the students for their overall personality development through community service. In today’s scenario NSS is one of the major youth movements to retain our social values and cultural heritage.
